Our clients' customers. When you fill in a contact form on a website we run for a business, we pass your details to that business. That business is responsible for your information. We only use it to deliver it to them, and we never market to you or share your details with anyone else.
Who we share information with. We use these service providers to run Silkline. Some store data outside New Zealand. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to New Zealand's.
- Cloudflare: website hosting, email delivery and data storage
- Stripe: payments
- GitHub: website code (no customer details)
We don't sell personal information, and we only disclose it otherwise if the law requires it.
How long we keep it. Client records are kept while you're a client and for 7 years afterwards for tax records. Stored contact-form submissions are deleted after 12 months, or within 30 days of a client leaving.
Security. We use two-factor authentication on all our accounts and limit access to the people who run the service.
Your rights. Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email [email protected]. We'll respond within 20 working days.
Complaints. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, contact us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes. We'll update this policy if how we handle information changes. Last updated: 27 October 2026.
